More than 570 Syrian refugees have returned to their home country from Lebanon and Jordan over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said in a bulletin on Monday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th November, 2018) More than 570 Syrian refugees have returned to their home country from Lebanon and Jordan over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for the Reception, Allocation and Accommodation of Refugees said in a bulletin on Monday.

"Over the past 24 hours, 574 Syrian nationals returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from foreign countries, including 178 refugees (54 women and 90 children) returning from Lebanon via the Jeydet-Yabus and Talkalakh checkpoints, and 396 people (119 women and 202 children) coming from Jordan via the Nasib checkpoint," the bulletin read.

Moreover, 220 internally displaced Syrians returned to their homes over the past 24 hours.

The Russian side has also carried out one humanitarian operation in the Damascus province providing 300 food sets totaling 1.29 tonnes to local residents.

The center added that the Kadyrov Regional Public Fund had distributed one tonne of bread in Aleppo.

Meanwhile, the Syrian army continues to conduct mine clearance operations and has found and defused 52 explosive devices over the last day, according to the center.

As the Syrian government has regained control over most of the country's territories that were seized by terrorists, it is now focused on creating favorable conditions for repatriating refugees. Moscow is assisting Damascus in this, along with providing humanitarian aid to civilians and being a guarantor of the ceasefire.
