Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi today celebrated the UAE Flag Day at its campus on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi. The celebration coincidences with the anniversary of the accession of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to presidency.
ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 01st Nov, 2018) Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi today celebrated the UAE Flag Day at its campus on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi. The celebration coincidences with the anniversary of the accession of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to presidency.
Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Fatima Saeed Al Shamsi, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administrative Affairs at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, said, "Flag Day is an occasion and a national symbol that expresses the independence and sovereignty of the UAE. We are proud to raise the Emirati flag up high and to highlight our national unity and loyalty as well as our national belonging. On this occasion, we affirm our commitment to supporting the goals and aspirations of our wise leadership to continue the UAE's journey to always be a beacon of light, tolerance and knowledge."
The university’s management, faculty, administrative staff and students raised the national flag in front of Sorbonne’s main building.
