He said, "This milestone validates the know-how our national cadres enjoy as they implement the vision of our wise leadership outlined in the UAE National Space Programme.
"The support from the UAE leadership to our engineers and scientists has driven this historic achievement, boosting our competitiveness on the global stage."
He added, "Our Founding Father, late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, was a forward-thinking leader. Not only did he establish ADFD in 1971, even before the formation of the union, but he also initiated the UAE’s pursuit to space way back in 1976. Today, and in the "Year of Zayed", together as a nation, we celebrate the translation of his dream into reality."
