ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 21st Oct, 2018) The Abu Dhabi City Municipality, ADM, held a series of internal training workshops in infrastructure asset management and maintenance.
Engineers from the asset management and infrastructure maintenance department of the Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Al Ain City Municipality and Al Dhafrah Municipality exchanged their knowledge and experiences in the field.
The programme is in line with the municipalities’ keenness to implement the strategic plans listed in Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030, which aims to improve the management of infrastructure assets and ensure the availability of quality human resources for the planning and operations of the municipalities in the Emirates.
The workshops also sought to expand knowledge and awareness among the engineers and staff workers about the importance of maintaining infrastructure, in which the government has invested over the past decades. It also focused on how to achieve optimal benefits from these assets by upgrading the management of infrastructure and the operational efficiency of assets to improve services, as well as the appearances of urban areas. Such a step will contribute to achieving a decent living for the citizens and residents, besides aligning the standard of living with the world’s best standards.
During the workshops, municipality staff emphasised the importance of implementing the highest standards in the internal management sectors of the municipality, as well as among government bodies, for effective asset management. Such compliance will enhance public awareness and ensure the implementation of the best practices and policies aimed at delivering the highest service standards, while investing in municipal assets, in line with the values of sustainability.
The Municipal Infrastructure and Assets sector previously held a series of workshops on topics, such as an introduction to assets management, listing and evaluating assets in support of asset management, service levels, planning and improvement of assets management programmes, evaluation of assets, and the performance of assets.
