Polish Police Report Hundreds Of Irregularities In Local Polls

WARSAW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st October, 2018) Polish police reported almost 400 irregularities in local elections, the National Electoral Commission said at a press conference on Sunday.

Poles went to cast ballots on Sunday to elect mayors and councilors in local administrations, with 14 candidates vying for the mayoral seat in Warsaw.

"The report by the chief police commissioner shows that over 28,000 officers are maintaining order. They reported 385 incidents that can constitute a crime or offense under the election law," a member of the committee said.

The commission member said disorderly conduct and violations of election silence were one of the most common offenses. At some polling stations voting was delayed over power failure.
