Russian President Putin To Start Two-Day Visit To Uzbekistan On Thursday

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th October, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin will start a two-day visit to Uzbekistan on Thursday, during which he is set to meet with his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev and take part in a number of state events.

The talks between the presidents will mainly focus on the security situation in Afghanistan as well as promotion of cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), among other bilateral and international issues.

Putin and Mirziyoyev are expected to sign a number of intergovernmental, interdepartmental and commercial documents following the talks.

The two presidents will also take part in the plenary session�of the Russia-Uzbekistan forum of inter-regional cooperation devoted to agriculture as a priority aspect of the development of bilateral relations.

Moreover, Putin and Mirziyoyev are set to partake via video link in the ceremony dedicated to the start of the construction of a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan, a joint project between the two countries.
