FNC committee reviews MOCD's people of determination services policy

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 17th Oct, 2018) The Social, Labour, Population and Human Resources Committee in the Federal National Council, FNC, discussed the Ministry of Community Development, MOCD, policy concerning its services and facilities provided to people of determination (persons with disabilities).

The discussions took place at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the FNC in Dubai, chaired by Hamad Ahmed Al Rahoumi, Committee Chairman.

Al Rahoumi said that the committee members reviewed the technical and analytical studies on this topic that was drafted by the FNC General Secretariat. He noted that the committee is discussing the Ministry’s people of determination policy. Policy discussions encompass three pillars - the legislation relating to the protection of persons with disabilities; the Ministry's plans to provide health, educational, economic, social and entertainment services to people of determination, and the role the Ministry plays to empower them and to ensure their participation in the labour market across the public and private sectors.

The committee's plan consists of undertaking field visits to the relevant authorities and centres and holding discussions with persons with disabilities, and their guardians or caretakers, taking into consideration their suggestions and listening to the challenges they face towards attaining empowerment.
