Seven more people were wounded in the blast in Lashkargah city, according to the TOLOnews broadcaster.

The wounded individuals have been taken to a nearby hospital, a spokesman for the provincial governor Omar Zwak said.

The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the attack, the media outlet noted.

Parliamentary elections in Afghanistan are set to take place on October 20. At least nine candidates have been killed since July 1.
