Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation honours outstanding students

The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, AMAF, recently honoured 108 outstanding students who secured a rating of 90 percent or higher in the academic year 2017-2018.

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 16th Oct, 2018) The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, AMAF, recently honoured 108 outstanding students who secured a rating of 90 percent or higher in the academic year 2017-2018.

The students who were acknowledged include Asma’a Nadeem Hassan Ali Al Afifi and Houria Hassan Abdul Karim Al Dari, who both achieved a score of 99 percent at the secondary level. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Awadhi, a student of the Institute of Applied Technology who placed ninth among the top 10 students at the state level, was also honoured. The ceremony also named and rewarded three female graduates sponsored by AMAF - Juwaireyah Jamal Ahmed Aqeel Arshi in the field of aeronautical engineering, Fatima Mohammed Yousef Zakary in electrical engineering, and Hanan Ahmed Abdullah Al Mulla in biotechnology.

During the ceremony, a group of university students enrolled in various disciplines via the Dawlat Al-Mahmoud educational endowment screened a film highlighting their overall academic experience.

"The foundation's support for its students enables them to continue their educational attainment at all levels of study. It also motivates them to pursue their undergraduate and postgraduate studies in vital disciplines that open up new horizons for them, and develop their skills both personally and professionally," Saba Sefai said.

Eid Mohammed Rashid Al-Kindi invited his fellow AMAF students to believe in their abilities and capacities, and benefit from the experiences of peers in choosing the best educational courses to help them achieve their ambitions. He also urged them to participate in shaping the future of development and enhance the UAE's position in the competitiveness and innovation indicators.

Speaking at the annual award ceremony, AMAF Secretary-General, Ali Al Mutawa, said, "Honouring the distinguished students is their right and privilege that they have earned by sheer hard work, dedication, and devotion to seek and acquire knowledge and add new skills. It is also our duty to shape a future generation of young leaders who have the requisite qualifications to contribute to the sustainability of progress and prosperity that the UAE continues to achieve through prioritising investments in human empowerment, as envisaged by our wise leadership."

Ahmad Hassan Nasser, Director of the Waqf Department at AMAF, said education is a means to look ahead, achieve human development, instil a culture of innovation, and build a diversified and sustainable economy based on knowledge.
