Abu Dhabi School of Government launched

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 14th Oct, 2018) As part of the Abu Dhabi vision to accelerate the growth of its knowledge economy and bolster the development of human capital, the Abu Dhabi government announced the launch of the Abu Dhabi school of Government, ADSG, a world-class professional development academy for Abu Dhabi government employees.

The Abu Dhabi School of Government will play a key role in Abu Dhabi’s Ghadan 21 programme unveiled by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in September 2018. Ghadan 21 will deliver wider ambitions to enhance the overall competitiveness of Abu Dhabi.

ADSG will aim to foster and develop leaders and high performers in Abu Dhabi, by equipping staff across all government entities with world-class managerial, operational and administrative skills. It will play a significant role in the emirate's ambition to build a sustainable and open economy.

The academy will contribute towards achieving Ghadan 21 objectives by integrating innovation as a key driver that enhances the learning eco-system within government and through the adoption of the latest trends and research, while maintaining a focus on the future needs of Abu Dhabi. The new institution will be partnering with best-in-class academic institutions, both locally and internationally, in addition to international online educational platforms that will bring unparalleled, comprehensive learning to government employees.

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan first announced the creation of ADSG in Law No. 15 of 2018, establishing the organisation as an educational and professional training initiative specifically aimed at advancing the capabilities of government employees across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on the announcement, Jassem Al Zaabi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Office, said, "This is a significant moment as the government of Abu Dhabi takes concrete steps to invest in the development of future-ready leaders. We aim to provide profound learning that complements our country’s firm belief that the provision of quality training is our duty."

"The ambition of the Abu Dhabi School of Government is to ensure that those generations have access to the latest and most advanced learning opportunities so that they can develop their skillsets and be ready to withstand continuously changing regional and global," he added.

As a government entity, the ADSG is responsible for overseeing and planning for the learning and development of all Abu Dhabi Government employees. It aims to develop the most effective and valuable government workforce by providing the highest quality of training and development activities according to international best practices and tailored to Abu Dhabi’s context and needs.
