Dr Mujahid Kamran, five others remanded in NAB custody for 10 days

Dr Mujahid Kamran appeared before Accountability Court judge Naham ul Hassan on Friday.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 12th October, 2018) Former Vice Chancellor of Punjab University Dr Mujahid Kamran has been handed over to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on 10-day physical remand along with five other accused.

Dr Mujahid Kamran appeared before Accountability Court judge Naham ul Hassan on Friday.

The NAB arrested Dr Mujahid Kamran on Thursday over irregularities during his tenure in the university.

Following his arrest, the ex-VC provided the bureau with information that led to the arrest of five former registrars as well, including Dr Auranzeb, Alamgir, Dr Liaqat Ali, Dr Ras Saud and Amin Athar.

Dr Mujahid Kamran is accused of illegal recruitment in the university and for giving away scholarships to students who were not eligible. In addition to this, he is also accused of being involved for the unlawful appointment of his wife Shazia Qureshi as the principal of Punjab University Law College.
