Says the Supreme Judicial Council is completely functional
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 12th October, 2018) Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has said that the judges will also be held accountable now.
A hearing on the supervision of lower courts under Lahore High Court was held in the Supreme Court on Friday.
During the hearing, the CJP remarked, “The accountability of judges has begun. The Supreme Judicial Council is completely functional.”
“The judges not working will be targeted now. An action against the misconduct of judges will be taken for not performing their duties,” he said.
The CJP further remarked, “Everybody will have to work now. People are dying for justice.”
The CJP went on to say, “Everybody demands for perks and privileges. Tell me who did how much work.”
“The judges not working will have to work now. Nobody will be spared now,” he added.
"The LHC seems to be failing to fulfill its responsibility. Has the High Court taken notice of the pending cases in the lower courts? We have to end the ill of recommendations from the country," the CJP said.
