AMMAN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th October, 2018) A total of 2.5 million Syrians have fled war to settle in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf monarchy's ambassador to Jordan told Sputnik on Thursday.

"The Kingdom has taken in those Syrians and does not call them refugees as they are living in cities. They number 2.5 million," Khalid bin Faisal bin Turki Al Saud said.

The diplomat stressed that Syrians had access to all services enjoyed by native Saudis. The monarchy also supports them in other host countries, he added.

In Jordan, Syrians in the Zaatari and Rukban refugee camps receive medical and education assistance, he said. A well will be drilled in Rukban with Saudi money to guarantee fresh water supply.
