LONDON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 09th October, 2018) International oil and gas industry leaders will gather in London on Tuesday-Thursday to participate in the 39th annual Oil & Money Conference, during which they will discuss key challenges for the petroleum sector, such as the US energy policy and Russia's role as the main gas producer.
The three-day conference will feature discussions by senior executives, policy makers, financiers, strategists and experts on a variety of pressing topics, including trade consequences of the US' return to the energy market as a key player, the challenge for rival energy players such as Saudi Arabia and China. Besides, the participants of the event will focus on the implications of changes in global crude and product trade flows, and the competition for upstream investment between the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), shale and the deepwater oil production.
The conference will also dedicate a separate day for talks on the global gas industry, with such topics as prospects and challenges for gas demand in power generation and threats that Russia faces as the world's biggest gas producer set to be discussed.
The annual event will feature keynote addresses by OPEC Secretary General Mohammad Barkindo, International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol, and US Department of State Assistant Secretary of Bureau of Energy Resources Francis R. Fannon, among others. Chief executives from national oil companies of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Libya will also take part in panel discussions, as well as such global oil players as Royal Dutch Shell, BP, Total, Chevron, and ExxonMobil.
