WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th October, 2018) US Secretary of Defense James Mattis will travel to Mexico on Sunday to attend a ministerial conference addressing regional defense issues in the Western Hemisphere, the Department of Defense said in a press release.
"Secretary of Defense James N. Mattis departs Oct. 7 to attend the Conference of the Defense Ministers of the Americas (CDMA) conference in Cancun, Mexico," the release said on Friday.
The release explained the CDMA is a biennial conference and a premier venue for the Western Hemisphere's senior leaders to discuss regional defense issues.
Mattis will meet with key leaders to reaffirm defense relationships and participate in bilateral meetings with senior officials, the release said.
