Russian First Deputy Energy Minister Alexey Teksler said on Friday that the country had started selling and exporting solar panels to Europe, albeit in limited quantities.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th October, 2018) Russian First Deputy Energy Minister Alexey Teksler said on Friday that the country had started selling and exporting solar panels to Europe, albeit in limited quantities.

"Export deliveries have already started. In particular, from the Novocheboksarsk plant ... to Europe," Teksler said on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week (REW).

According to the official, the deliveries have so far been conducted on a limited scale.

Russia is currently implementing a program to support sustainable energy. Projects on building green power stations are chosen on a competitive basis on the condition that a certain percentage of equipment is Russian-made. The program is in effect until 2024.

The REW forum started in Moscow on Wednesday and will last until Saturday. Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency is the official media partner of the event.
