ST. PETERSBURG (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 04th October, 2018) The European Union is helping Syrians but its humanitarian commitments need to be increased, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said Wednesday.
"Syria is already receiving aid on all fronts... Most of it is coming through the EU. We agree that we need to step up this effort," the Austrian chancellor told reporters in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Kurz admitted that rebuilding Syria was important but said the lengthy war in the country must end before that could be done.
Russia's EU envoy Vladimir Chizhov last month criticized the union for putting political process first. This includes the transition of power.
