Russia is not seeking to become a monopolist in the European gas market, consumers must have a choice, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 03rd October, 2018) Russia is not seeking to become a monopolist in the European gas market, consumers must have a choice, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Wednesday.

"We are not monopolists in the European market and we do not want to be ones, we do not mind supplies of liquefied natural gas. Consumers should have the right to choose both the supplier of gas and gas delivery routes, there must be competition," Novak said at the panel session of the Russian Energy Week forum.
