ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 30th Sep, 2018) Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the board of Directors of the Securities and Commodities Authority, SCA, met with members of the recently formed "Youth Council for the Future’s Economy."

During the meeting with members of the council, which is managed by the Ministry of Economy and is part of an initiative by the SCA, Al Mansouri explained a range of guidelines, including the necessity of involving the youth by submitting their ideas and suggestions to relevant national authorities, while stressing the importance of preparing a future generation that is aware, open and supported by an innovative vision and leadership approach.

The council has nine members representing the Ministry of Economy, the SCA, the General Authority of Civil Aviation and the Insurance Authority.

Al Mansouri said that today’s youth have many opportunities that will enable them to realise the UAE’s bright future, while highlighting the importance of developing their skills and capacities to lead the public and private sectors and achieve economic development, which is one of the country’s strategic goals. He also stressed the need to focus on the three major national economic priorities, which are the public sector, the semi-public sector, which includes state-owned companies, and the private sector, while pointing out promising opportunities in the private sector available to the nation’s youth.

During the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, CEO of the SCA, Al Mansouri noted the importance of holding direct dialogue with the youth, to learn about their ideas and suggestions and convey them to the country’s supreme leadership, as well as improving their awareness about the government’s directives, in line with international developments, while affirming that youth must be equipped with modern knowledge and skills.

The council’s original project, which was adopted by the Board of Directors of the SCA, stipulates that the council’s objectives must represent its working constitution and be based on a positive methodology for addressing the role of the youth and their ambitions, through involving them in drafting the strategy of the country’s future knowledge-based economy and launching innovative economic projects that will reduce the country’s dependency on oil, as well as economically and commercially empower the youth through initiatives that will develop their capacities, while supporting their role in establishing commercial projects that will serve the community.
