Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, today continued to meet with a number of ministers and senior executive leaders from different world countries on the sidelines of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA-73).
NEW YORK, (Pakistan Point News - 29th Sep, 2018) Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, today continued to meet with a number of ministers and senior executive leaders from different world countries on the sidelines of the 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA-73).
The minister met with Sidiki Kaba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Senegal, and the two discussed ways of propelling bilateral relations to a higher level and exchanged views on an array of regional and international issues of common interest. Al Hashemy underlined the UAE's determination to advance cooperation with Senegal in line with its distinguished relations with all African Union members states, with the Senegalese minister affirming his government's keenness to develop ties with the UAE.
She also met with Amina J. Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, to discuss a number of issues of relevance to the UN sustainable development programmes. The minister elaborated on the central importance attached by the UAE to achieving UNSDGs and the great strides made by the country in this respect.
Al Hashemy also met with Dr. Natalia Kanem, Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund, who lauded the UAE sustainable development drive and the achievements made by the country in this domain.
The minister also met with Tim Lenderking, the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs, and discussed with him the coordination mechanism between the two countries and the latest developments in the region.
She also met with Louise Arbour, UN Secretary General's Special Representative for International Migration, and elaborated on the UAE's pioneering efforts in countering human trafficking and the robust legislation developed by the country to combat this kind of crimes in conformity with international standards.
