US Oil Exports Set Monthly Record of 2.2Mln Barrels Per Day - Energy Information Agency

US exports of crude oil hit a new monthly record after surging by 80 percent in the first half of the year, the Energy Information Administration said in a press release on Monday.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th September, 2018) US exports of crude oil hit a new monthly record after surging by 80 percent in the first half of the year, the Energy Information Administration said in a press release on Monday.

"US crude oil exports increased by 787,000 b/d [barrels per day], or almost 80 percent, from the first half of 2017 to the first half of 2018 and set a new monthly record of 2.2 million b/d in June," the release said.

From January through June 2018, exports of both crude oil and hydrocarbon gas liquids (HGLs) such as liquefied natural gas set monthly records, the release added.

In addition, total crude plus HGL exports totaled 7.3 million b/d in the first six months of the year, the largest combined total ever for that time period, the release noted.

As with crude oil, destinations in Asia and Oceania such as Japan, South Korea, China, and India were also the Primary recipients of US HGLs, according to the release.
