DED honours ‘Best Service Performance Outlet’ winners

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2018) Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of the Department of Economic Development, DED, has honoured 17 members of the Dubai Service Excellence Scheme, DSES, for being chosen as the ‘Best Service Performance Outlet’ in various retail categories for their exceptional customer service and commitment to ethical business practices.

The winners were chosen from more than 2,000 members enrolled in the scheme.

Speaking at the event, Khalid Al Kassim, Assistant Director General for Economic Affairs in DED, said, "The Business Excellence Department in Dubai DED has been continuously developing the DSES categories, and now has consolidated the 18 categories into seven major sectors - Shopping Malls, Specialty Retail Outlets, Fashion, Hypermarkets and General Retail, Services, Health and Wellness, and Hospitality and Entertainment, all of which contribute towards enhancing competition across varied fields and vital sectors."

DSES witnessed a 66 percent growth in enrollments in 2017, from 72 organisations in 2016 to 120, thus bringing 193 registered trademarks and 1,815 retail outlets under the Scheme, Al Kassim added.

"Since its inception, DSES has had more than 2,000 members, and more than 300 Mystery Shoppers of the Scheme who conducted 3,631 visits to retail outlets during 2017. The Mystery Shoppers are trained to evaluate the participating outlets across eight key factors: Appearance; Comfort, Health and Safety; Policy and Standards; Staff Efficiency, Service Delivery; Cash Counters; Happiness Meter and Facilities for People of Determination," he noted.
