Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on media reports on Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov suspected by London of the involvement in the Salisbury poisoning incident, said on Monday that he trusted the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin more than some depersonalized information.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th September, 2018) Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on media reports on Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov suspected by London of the involvement in the Salisbury poisoning incident, said on Monday that he trusted the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin more than some depersonalized information.
Last week, Bellingcat and The Insider reported that their joint investigation confirmed, through uncovered passport data, that the two Russian nationals were linked to Russian security services. Such an assumption was explained by the fact that Petrov's internal passport under this name was issued in 2009, while no records allegedly exist for this individual prior to this year. Media reports that followed the investigation suggested that a phone number included in the dossier belonged to the Russian Defense Ministry.
"I trust the president's words more than impersonal information of a different nature," Peskov told reporters, when asked to comment on the controversy between the claims made by media and Putin's statement about Petrov and Boshirov being civilians.
