LONDON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th September, 2018) The Russian embassy has not yet received an official confirmation from the police of London and Wiltshire regarding a Russian citizen reportedly taken ill in Salisbury, the diplomatic mission's spokesperson told Sputnik.

On Sunday, the UK police cordoned off a restaurant in Salisbury after "a medical incident" involving two diners who fell ill, adding later that there was nothing to suggest that the incident was caused by the use of a nerve agent. Media reported that one of the victims was a Russian citizen.

"Last night the embassy immediately contacted both enforcement agencies in London and the Wiltshire county's police to verify reports about a Russian citizen allegedly being among the victims. We have not received an official confirmation from the police yet," the spokesperson said.
