Japan External Trade Organization Plans to Open Office in Russia's Vladivostok - City Hall

Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) plans to open an office in Russia's Vladivostok, which would be its third in the country, the city mayor's office said Friday in a statement.

VLADIVOSTOK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 14th September, 2018) Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) plans to open an office in Russia's Vladivostok, which would be its third in the country, the city mayor's office said Friday in a statement.

"[The office] is planned to be based in the Vladivostok center for the development of entrepreneurship and start-ups. This information became known during the working meeting of Executive Vice-President of JETRO Yasukazu Irino and Vladivostok Mayor Vitaly Verkeenko on September 13," the statement reads.

The statement added that Verkeenko had suggested back in April that JETRO opened an office in Vladivostok.

JETRO is a government organization that seeks to support the activities of Japanese companies abroad. It has 74 offices in 55 countries at the moment, including offices in Russia's Moscow and St. Petersburg.
