Rawalpindi (Pakistan Point News – 11th September, 2018) Former first lady Begum Kulsoom Nawaz has passed away in London.
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has expressed grief over the sad demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
In a tweet, ISPR DG Maj General Asif Ghafoor said, "COAS expresses his grief and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family on sad demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.
“May Allah bless the departed soul eternal peace at Heaven-Amen”, the COAS further said.
Family sources confirmed on Tuesday that Begum Kulsoom has passed away in London.
Begum Kulsoom's dead body is likely to be brought Pakistan on Thursday for burial.
Shehbaz Sharif will leave for London today to get the dead body. Begum Kulsoom Nawaz will be buried alongside Mian Sharif, her father-in-law, at Jati Umra.
However, he said, Begum Kulsoom's funeral will be held after consultation with Nawaz Sharif.
Prime Minister Imran Khan and other political leaders have expressed grief over the sad demise of the former first lady.
Begum Kulsoom Nawaz’s health had deteriorated today while she was undergoing cancer treatment in London.
Media reports said that Begum Kulsoom Nawaz was placed on life support again on Tuesday as her health began deteriorating.
Sources at Harley Street Clinic informed that Begum Kulsoom’s health began deteriorating last night as she has developed a lungs problem again.
She is in a critical phase and doctors have placed her back on ventilator, the sources added.
“She is also undergoing kidney dialysis,” they further said.
