Chinese business magnate and founder of the Alibaba Group Jack Ma met on Tuesday with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev on the sidelines of the Easter Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, a source familiar with the matter told Sputnik.
VLADIVOSTOK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) Chinese business magnate and founder of the Alibaba Group Jack Ma met on Tuesday with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Kirill Dmitriev on the sidelines of the Easter Economic Forum (EEF) in Vladivostok, a source familiar with the matter told Sputnik.
According to the source, after the meeting, which lasted several minutes, Ma proceeded to the talks of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the representatives of the foreign business community.
The Alibaba Group has not provided any comments on the meeting yet.
On Monday, the company announced that Ma would be resigning from his position of Alibaba's executive chairman on September 10, 2019.
Alibaba Group is the largest Chinese internet company, which includes a number of other companies and services, such as Alipay, Alibaba.com, Taobao, Tmal, UC Web and Youku Tudou. Jack Ma founded the company in 1999.
The fourth EEF is now underway on the island of Russky in the Russian Far Eastern city of Vladivostok. Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency is the general information partner of the forum.
