China's Air Force To Send 30 Aircraft To Vostok-2018 War Games - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) The Chinese Air Force will send 26 helicopters and 6 jets to Russia for taking part in Vostok-2018 large-scale military drills, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.

"A total of 30 aircraft (24 choppers and 6 jets) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army's Air Forces will take part in the Vostok-2018 exercises," the ministry said in a statement.

According to the ministry, the group will include six Mi-171 helicopters, which have been bought in Russia, as well as nine Z-9 and nine Z-19 choppers.

Vostok-2018, set to become the largest military exercises held by Russia in over 30 years, are scheduled for September 11-17 at five ranges in the east of Russia, and in the waters of the Sea of Japan, Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk. According to previous estimates, about 300,000 troops were set to participate in the maneuvers. The drills have gained an international status, with troops from China and Mongolia set to take part in one of the stages.
