WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) The United States has sanctioned Bosnia and Herzegovina's lawmaker Nikola Spiric for his involvement in major corruption cases, the Department of State said in a press release on Monday.
"The Department is publicly designating Mr. Nikola Spiric, a member of the House of Representatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina, under Section 7031(c) of the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Act of 2018, due to his involvement in significant corruption," the release said.
Spiric engaged in public corruption, including the acceptance of improper benefits in exchange for the performance of public functions and interference with public processes, the release added.
