RT Editor-in-Chief Links Calls To Take Away RT License In UK With Skripal Case

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th September, 2018) Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of RT, commented Monday on a UK lawmaker's calls to deprive RT of its broadcasting license in the United Kingdom, linking it to the Skripal case.

Last week, Scottish Liberal Democrats said on their website that member of the UK parliament Christine Jardine had called for taking away the media outlet's license.

"In connection with the threat of Novichok poisoning, which is still hanging over the United Kingdom, Scottish liberal democrats proposed to immediately take away our broadcasting license. Because we are 'the Kremlin's propaganda arm,'" Simonyan wrote on her Telegram channel.

Last week, UK law enforcement said it had identified two Russian nationals behind the poisoning of former Russian spy Sergei Skripal. Moreover, UK Prime Minister Theresa May accused Russian military intelligence of orchestrating the poisoning under the order of the central authorities. Russian authorities, in turn, said that the photos and Names of the suspects, Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov, that were released by London did not prove Moscow's involvement in the attack.
