Yemen Government's Delegation Leaves Geneva Consultations for Yemen Today

The consultations on Yemen in Geneva have concluded, without the arrival of the Houthi delegation, as the government delegation will today depart for Yemen, Hamzah Alkamaly, a member of the government's delegation, told Sputnik on Saturday.

GENEVA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 08th September, 2018) The consultations on Yemen in Geneva have concluded, without the arrival of the Houthi delegation, as the government delegation will today depart for Yemen, Hamzah Alkamaly, a member of the government's delegation, told Sputnik on Saturday.

"Yes, of course, the government delegation will be leaving today," Alkamaly said.

He pointed out that there would be no further consultations without changes in the Houthis' stance on the conflict's settlement.

"There will be no next consultations until [the Houthis] make some changes," Alkamaly added.

Yemen has been engulfed in an armed conflict between the government headed by President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and the Houthi Shia movement for several years. The Saudi-led coalition of mostly Persian Gulf nations has been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthis at Hadi's request since March 2015.
