Dmitry Trapeznikov has been illegally appointed as the acting head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic after the assassination of its leader Alexander Zakharchenko, the DPR Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement on Friday.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th September, 2018) Dmitry Trapeznikov has been illegally appointed as the acting head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic after the assassination of its leader Alexander Zakharchenko, the DPR Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement on Friday.
Zakharchenko was killed last week in a blast at a cafe in central Donetsk. Eleven other people were injured.
"Dmitry Trapeznikov is not the first deputy chairman of the DPR Council of Ministers ... Dmitry Trapeznikov could not be mandated to fulfill the duties of the head of the DPR," the statement read as quoted by the Donetsk news agency.
