MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th September, 2018) US Secretary of Defense James Mattis on Friday arrived in Afghanistan on an unannounced visit, US media reported.
Mattis is expected to meet with the new commander of Resolute Support and US Forces-Afghanistan, Gen. Austin Scott Miller, the CNN broadcaster reported.
Miller assumed command of the mission that advises and trains Afghan forces last week.
On Thursday, Mattis held a meeting with his Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman.
