Shooting Registered In Syria's Latakia, Hama Over Past 24 Hours - Russian Military

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th September, 2018) The Russian Center for Syrian reconciliation said on Wednesday that multiple ceasefire violations had been registered in the Syrian provinces of Latakia and Hama, as well as the city of Aleppo over the past 24 hours.

"Over the past 24 hours, insurgents attacked the settlements of Safsafa (6), Akch-Bayer (2), Kinsabba, Kuljok, positions of government troops near mountains of Shir-al-Ahab, Beyr-Smayra (2), and positions of government troops on the Marj-Shili Mount, Latakia province, Haiy-al-Ansari, Maqanisal-Duwayri (3), Maraanaz, Binyamin, Sheikh-Maqsoud districts, and northwest outskirts of Aleppo city, and Abu-Dali town, Hama province," Lt. Gen. Vladimir Savchenko said at a briefing.

The center added that the number of ceasefire violations in the Idlib de-escalation zone remained high.

Syria has been in a state of civil war since 2011, with the government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups and militant and terrorist organizations. Russia, along with Turkey and Iran, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been providing humanitarian aid to residents of the crisis-torn country.
