The UK police arrested on Wednesday five people across the country on suspicion of being members of the so-called National Action group, a far-right neo-Nazi organization that has been banned in the country since December 2016, West Midlands Police said.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 05th September, 2018) The UK police arrested on Wednesday five people across the country on suspicion of being members of the so-called National Action group, a far-right neo-Nazi organization that has been banned in the country since December 2016, West Midlands Police said.

"Five people have been arrested today (Wednesday 5 September) on suspicion of terrorism offences. ... A 22-year-old man from Birmingham, a 23-year-old man from Halifax, a 22-year-old woman also from Halifax, a 28-year-old man from Birmingham and a 17-year-old boy from Nottingham will be questioned on suspicion of being members of a proscribed organisation (National Action) contrary to section 11 of the Terrorism Act," the police said.

The group was founded in 2013 and its members are still reportedly meeting in secret. The group is known for organizing marches and demonstrations, as well as promoting anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. Membership in this group is considered to be a criminal offense that is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
