Says he won’t be a quiet president
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 4th September, 2018) Polling is underway in the Parliament and provincial assemblies to elect the 13th president of the country.
The PTI had fielded its senior leader Arif Alvi while Muttahida Majlis-e-Aamal’s Maulana Falzur Rehman and Pakistan People’s Party's Aitzaz Ahsan are in the race for the election for the office of President. The election is being held through secret balloting procedure.
PTI’s presidential candidate Dr Arif Alvi while talking to media on Tuesday said that today’s election is a cartilage of Imran Khan’s 22-year struggle.
“Pakistan will be on the path of development in a few years. People in Pakistan will be able to get justice, the 20 million out-of-school children will go to school and there will be better health facilities,” he said, adding that he will be the president of the entire country, not just one political party.
Dr Arif Alvi added that he won’t be a quiet president. I will try to get Pakistan out of this stage and will perform my duties within constitution.
He further said that he will resign from all party positions after being elected as the president.
On a question regarding his first job as president, the PTI’s candidate said that he will fix the drainage of his house.
“There is stagnant water in my bedroom. I will fix my house drainage as my first work after being elected as the president,” he said.
