Rwandan Ambassador to Russia Jeanne d'Arc Mujawamariya told Sputnik that she hoped an agreement on the direct export of Rwandan tea and coffee to Russia will be signed in November at the Rwanda-Russia Business Forum in Kigali.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 03rd September, 2018) Rwandan Ambassador to Russia Jeanne d'Arc Mujawamariya told Sputnik that she hoped an agreement on the direct export of Rwandan tea and coffee to Russia will be signed in November at the Rwanda-Russia Business Forum in Kigali.

"Of course, as you know, Rwanda is a country of tea and coffee, so we will be happy to have our coffee and tea on the Russian market. Yes, it is already here, the Rwandan coffee is already here but it comes from the United States, Starbucks. It does not come immediately from Kigali or from Rwanda. We would like to have our own coffee coming from Rwanda," the ambassador said, adding that the November business forum would be a good chance for the Rwandan Private Sector Federation and the Russian Chamber of Commerce to sign the deal and discuss other investment opportunities.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commended during his June visit to Kigali the potential for bilateral trade and said that the two states would boost trade cooperation in the coming years.
