Astana Confirms Visit Of Vice Chairman Of China's Central Military Commission In September

ASTANA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st September, 2018) Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov confirmed on Saturday that Vice Chairman of China's Central Military Commission Gen. Xu Qiliang would visit the country in September.

On Thursday, spokesman for the Chinese Defense Ministry Wu Qian said that Xu would pay official visits to Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan between September 1-9 to implement the agreements reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the countries' leaders.

"It is true that the People's Republic of China president's military deputy will be here on these days. There is a planned program, meetings with partners will be held," Abdrakhmanov told journalists.

During the visit, Xu is expected to hold talks with the three countries' leaders and military chiefs and visit a number of military facilities, according to the Chinese Defense Ministry.

China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are among the eight permanent members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, whose main goals include cooperation in the area of international security and counterterrorism.
