DONETSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st September, 2018) The last farewell ceremony and the funeral of assassinated leader of the Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Zakharchenko are set to take place on September 2, acting DPR leader Dmitry Trapeznikov said Friday.
Zakharchenko, 42, was killed in a bomb blast in a cafe in downtown Donetsk earlier in the day. The explosion also caused serious injuries to DPR Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Timofeev, who accompanied Zakharchenko, and who is now in grave condition in a hospital. The DPR authorities have classified the incident as a terrorist attack.
"Due to what happened, the mourning period has been declared on September 1, 2 and 3. The funeral and the farewell ceremony are planned for September 2," Trapeznikov told reporters.
