MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) Russia's Navy and Aerospace Forces will hold large-scale military exercises in the Mediterranean on September 1-8, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement Thursday.
"In accordance with the Russian Armed Forces training plan under the leadership of Russian Navy commander Admiral Vladimir Korolev, a large-scale exercise of the grouping of forces of the Navy and Aerospace Forces will be held in the Mediterranean Sea on September 1-8, 2018, the statement said.
The ministry said the drills will involve ships of the Northern, Baltic, Black Sea Fleets and the Caspian Flotilla, long-distance, military transport and naval aircraft, adding that over 25 ships, led by the Marshal Ustinov missile cruiser and 30 aircraft will take part in the exercises.
