Trump Elaborates On New US-Mexico Trade Deal, Saying It Focuses On Farmers, Job Creation

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 29th August, 2018) The new trade agreement between the United States and Mexico is covering a wide range of issues such as supporting farmers, job creation and will be a big hit, US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday.

On Monday, the US leader said that the United States and Mexico had reached a new trade agreement that will replace the current North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). However, Trump's announcement has already been criticized by a number of US congressmen over failure to reveal any details depicting how it will benefit the US citizens.

Our new Trade Deal with Mexico focuses on FARMERS, GROWTH for our country, tearing down TRADE BARRIERS, JOBS and having companies continue to POUR BACK INTO OUR COUNTRY. It will be a big hit, Trump wrote on Twitter.

The deal announced by Trump would change rules governing auto manufacturing in NAFTA in an attempt to bring more car production back to the United States, but little else is known about the agreement, which must eventually be approved by Congress.

US Rep. Bill Pascrell said on Tuesday that the US President, when negotiating the deal with Mexico, failed to comply with a provision of a 2015 law requiring him to consult with chairs and ranking minority members of relevant committees in the US lower house.
