UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura has invited senior diplomats from member states of the so-called "small group" on Syria to Geneva on September 14 to discuss the Syrian constitutional commission, United Nations Office at Geneva's (UNOG) spokeswoman Alessandra Vellucci said Tuesday.
GENEVA (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th August, 2018) UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura has invited senior diplomats from member states of the so-called "small group" on Syria to Geneva on September 14 to discuss the Syrian constitutional commission, United Nations Office at Geneva's (UNOG) spokeswoman Alessandra Vellucci said Tuesday.
"Special Envoy de Mistura has invited Egypt, France, Germany, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the UK and the USA for joint consultations at the UN Office in Geneva on 14 September. The Special envoy would like to take this opportunity to follow up on the June 25 meeting, and discuss with senior representatives of these countries the way ahead on the political process, including the UN effort to facilitate the establishment of the constitutional committee and the broader dimensions of this effort," Vellucci told a briefing.
The "small group" member states would be represented by senior diplomats.
