MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th August, 2018) German Chancellor Angela Merkel will pay on Saturday a one-day working visit to Azerbaijan.
The German chancellor will be accompanied by the country's officials and the representatives of business community.
Merkel is set to meet with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev in the country's capital of Baku.
Their talks will focus on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the energy exports from Azerbaijan to Europe.
Merkel is also willing to address Baku's decision to ban the entry of member of the Christian Democratic Union party and Deputy Chairman of German parliamentary group for relations with Southern Caucasus states Albert Weiler to the country due to his visits to the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh in 2014 and 2016.
