MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd August, 2018) US President Donald Trump hit back at claims he colluded with Russia to undercut his rival, Hillary Clinton, during the 2016 voting, saying the only thing he did wrong was to win.
"The only thing that I have done wrong is to win an election that was expected to be won by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats. The problem is, they forgot to campaign in numerous states!" he tweeted.
The president has repeatedly referred to the inquiry into his associates alleged collusion with Russians as a "witch hunt."
His former campaign chair Paul Manafort was convicted by a jury of unrelated fraud charges earlier this week. The conviction stemmed from the Russia probe by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
The jurys ruling came the same day that Trumps ex-lawyer pleaded guilty to campaign finance violations, believed to be hush money he paid to the presidents alleged lovers.
