Russias Putin Plans To Go To East Asia Summit In November - Aide

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd August, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to attend the East Asia Summit (EAS) in Singapore in fall, his aide Yuri Ushakov told a Russian newspaper.

Putin was invited to the summit by Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. He is also expected to attend a summit between Russia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Asked if the president would be present at the East Asia Summit, his aide confirmed to the Izvestia newspaper that, "Yes, it is planned."

The annual East Asia Summit is scheduled for November 14-15. It groups 18 nations from East Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia with ten ASEAN members at its core.
