DONETSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 15th August, 2018) Two people have been injured after the Ukrainian military shelled the village of Kominternove, also known as Pikuzy, in the south of the self-proclaimed Donetsk Peoples' Republic (DPR), a DPR representative in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) said on Wednesday.

Late on Tuesday, the DPR said that the Ukrainian forces had fired over 100 shells on Kominternove and the neighboring village of Leninske.

"The number of those injured increased to two. Also, as a result of the shelling, a resident of the Kominternove settlement, born in 1942, sustained an arm injury," the official said.

The conflict in Donbas between local residents, who formed the DPR and the self-proclaimed Luhansk Peoples' Republic (LPR), and the central Kiev authorities has been raging since 2014. Efforts to stabilize the situation have been made by the Normandy Four group comprising Russia, Ukraine, France, and Germany.

In particular, the Normandy Four brokered the Minsk peace accords, which were signed by the sides to the conflict in a bid to end hostilities in the area. However, unrest in Donbas continues.
