Kuwaiti media delegation visits WAM

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 14th Aug, 2018) A Kuwaiti media delegation Tuesday visited the premises of the Emirates News Agency (WAM) to explore paths of knowledge transfer and exchange of expertise in areas of digital reporting and journalism for different media trends.

Mohammad Jalal Alrayssi, Executive Director of WAM, welcomed the Kuwaiti delegates, led by Faisal Leil Al-Mutalakim, Assistant Undersecretary for Foreign Media Department, with the two sides underlining the importance of digital media and employing state-of-the-art technology to promote media content and make media messages more impactful.

The transformational development WAM is currently undergoing and the state news agency's eminent contributions to the UAE development drive across different domains have been thoroughly addressed during the meeting by WAM Executive Director who underlined the importance of the current close media cooperation between the UAE and Kuwait, which, he said, comes as a true reflection of the robust ties between the two sisterly countries across various fields.

Alrayssi shed light on the media services launched by WAM recently, primarily the expansion of news services to include eight languages, and the series of cooperation agreements signed with different global and regional state agencies to bolster collaboration and streamline exchange of knowledge and expertise.

For his part, the Kuwaiti official commended the modern media techniques employed by WAM, affirming that the visit is likely to pave the way to beef up cooperation in a way that reflects ultimately positively on the role played by the pan-Gulf media in ramping up sustainable development across the region.

Accompanied by Alrayssi, the Kuwait delegates were shown around WAM's different news departments and got firsthand knowledge of the latest media techniques and international practices followed by the agency in news making and transmission, especially in areas of digital media.
