Pakistani-Canadian punk rocker Urvah Khan releases Urdu song for Independence Day

Raising ‘Azaadi Ka Naara’, Urvah Khan has blown everyone away with her fresh track.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 14th August, 2018) A Canadian singer of Pakistani origin has sung a song in urdu in connection with the 71st Independence Day of Pakistan.

Canadian-Pakistani punk rock artiste Urvah Khan continues to push the new frontier of punk from Toronto to Pakistan. Raising ‘Azaadi Ka Naara’, Urvah Khan has blown everyone away with her fresh track.

This is her first song in Urdu with the music inspired by Western rock. The song titled as ‘Tarang’ has some powerful lyrics besides the rock beat. The video features a Pakistani flag and fierce Urvah singing in it.

In an interview with a local publication last year, Urvah had spoken up about her Pakistani roots, “I moved to Canada at a young age, so I was not in touch with my Pakistani-ness. Since 2013, I started getting back into it. I have even started taking classical singing classes from Sohail Rana.”

Well, we assume the music classes certainly worked as ‘Tarang’ sounds like an upbeat desi song with a flavour of rock music the country has been missing.
