New Delhi (Pakistan Point News – 9th August, 2018) Pakistani author Sanam Maher’s book on Qandeel Baloch is among the six books shortlisted for India’s Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize 2018.
‘The Sensational Life and Death of Qandeel Baloch’ by Sanam Maher is an account of the honour killing of the social media sensation at the hands of her brother.
Sharing the news on her Twitter account, Maher said, “Some fantastic news to start the day off - The Sensational Life & Death of Qandeel Baloch (@AlephBookCo) is shortlisted for the Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize this year!”
In another tweet, the author thanked everyone for the wishes.
The First Book Prize was set up by the Shakti Bhatt Foundation in 2008 to encourage authors from the sub-continent. The prize is a cash award of INR200,000 and a trophy.
The winner will be announced in November.
