Dubai Chamber highlights Latin American trade links

DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 07th Aug, 2018) The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently participated in the 4th Global Agribusiness Forum in Sao Paolo where it highlighted strengthening agricultural trade links between Dubai and Latin America, as well as key areas where bilateral trade can be increased in the future.

The forum was attended by more than 1,500 key stakeholders ranging from businesspeople, government authorities, Brazilian and foreign exporters, importers and investors and local media who gathered to discuss the future of agriculture business in the world, in addition to solutions to challenges faced by humanity to develop social and economically and preserve the environment.

Representatives from over 150 companies visited Dubai Chamber’s stand at the forum and visitors were briefed on the various services the Chamber provides to member companies, progress achieved at the Global Business Forum on Latin America 2018 in Dubai and the findings of a recent report on agricultural trade activity between GCC and Latin American countries.

During the forum, Omar Khan, Dubai Chamber’s Director of International Offices, met with Latin American company representatives operating in a wide variety of sectors, including agriculture, cosmetics, logistics, legal, trade and commodities.

Khan also participated in a panel discussion covering public-private sector cooperation which was joined by other government officials from Brazil, Latin America and the EU.

During the panel, he emphasised the importance of events like the Global Agribusiness Forum which provide an ideal platform to showcase Dubai’s competitive advantages. Khan highlighted Dubai’s successful model of close cooperation between its public and private sectors and explained that this has greatly contributed to the emirate’s remarkable economic progress over the last decade.
